For thousands of years burdock root has traditionally been known as a blood purifier in Chinese medicine. It was used to support the health and increase circulation to the skin. Burdock was used commonly for many skin and digestive issues by helping to balance heat in the body. 


Dried root may be used as a cold infusion or decoction. Fresh or cooked root and leaf are edible. Burdock can be either taken alone or combined with Sarsaparilla and Yellow Dock. For herbal tea, add 2 Teaspoons of dried root to 1 cup of hot water and steep for 12-15 minutes. Strain the liquid before drinking.
